Good Climbing Videos

There are hundreds of new climbing videos every week, but most of them suck. Here are the ones that don’t suck.

Never Stop – Jimmy Chin – A brief video profile of climber/photographer/North Face athlete Jimmy Chin.

Red Bull Avaatara Story Cut – Pro climber David Lama goes to Lebanon to climb in what must be one of the most spectacular locations in the world. And this video might be the single most beautifully shot climbing video I’ve ever seen.

Neil Gresham’s Freakshow – A quick look at the crazy training habits of hardcore climber Neil Gresham

Sequence 2 – Paul Robinsons climbs some beautiful boulders at the Grampians in Australia.

Frank and the Tower – A nice short film about climbing guide Frank Sanders and his love of Wyoming’s Devil’s Tower. He first climbed the tower more than 40 years ago, and he’s climbed it more than 2,000 times since.

The Final Round – Tom Randall climbs a 5.13d X limestone trad route in the Peak District.

The Force 8b – A 14-year-old projects a difficult route in beautiful Scotland.

Highballs and Dynos – Shows some great highball and dyno problems in the Bishop area. The music is a bit obnoxious, but that’s an easy problem to solve.

Freak Show – Portland climber Alex Borst heads up the Columbia River Gorge to project the route Freakshow (5.14a).

Free Solo Rock Climbing – Explained by professional Will Stanhope – Pro climber Will Stanhope talks about free soloing. Interspersed with that is footage of him free soloing in Squamish.
